TWO IMPORTANT IMPROVEMENTS ARE NEEDED ON THE COMPASS CAMPUS:
· Conversion of current office space to one large classroom
· New monument sign on Van Buren

FAQ'S
Q. What does “conversion of office space” mean?
A. The Staff and Elders have decided that the
1000 sq. ft. +/- of office space is more valuable to the future ministry and growth of Compass if used as a large classroom. The space would be used on Sunday mornings for Elementary Aged Children’s Ministries. Pastor Mike has said the following about this space conversion:

  • It clearly communicates Compass’ commitment to young families and the priority of Children’s Ministries;
  • A lack of both the number of rooms and the size of the current rooms has become a significant challenge; and
Sunday ministry to school-aged kids is immediately improved as the new room will be used for Worship, Bible
lesson, and (age based) small groups.
  • This new mid-sized room will also be available for use by other ministries during the course of each week.

Q. Where will the Staff offices be?
A. Laura our Administrative Assistant and Gay our Children’s Ministries Director will still have offices on campus. The Church Office will be in Room A1, next to the Kitchen. Gay will have her office in the current Office Conference Room. The rest of the staff will work from their homes.

Q. Is this a permanent move?
A. Well . . . we hope not! As God continues to grow Compass we foresee a time when additional facilities will be built at which time provision can be made for new Staff office space.

Q. Why not lease commercial office space?
A. Commercial office space remains quite expensive, so this is, for the time being, the most economical option for Compass and our Staff.

Q. Will the pastors still be available to meet with Compass folks?
A. YES! However, as with most current appointments it will be necessary to have scheduled appointment times. These meetings can still take place on campus or at another location, e.g., a coffee shop or restaurant.

Q. Why a new sign?
A.
Countless guests share that they drove past Compass, some for years, and did not know it was a church. Others found Compass, but never actually saw a sign.

In an effort to effectively advertise events and communicate with the community, a larger, more visible sign is needed.

Q. What will the new sign look like?
A.
Notice the 2’ x 8’ digital display board providing the ability to change messages as often as needed. This is the largest sign possible according to Goodyear sign ordinances.

Q. How much will the office conversion and sign cost?
A.
The goal for THE NEXT GENERATION project is $55,000.

Q. How soon can THE NEXT GENERATION projects be completed?
A
. Once donations and/or financial commitments of $55,000 are made contracts can be signed and work will begin.

Q. Is there a target date for contributing to THE NEXT GENERATION project fund?
A.
The goal is to raise these funds as quickly as possible with a target date of not later than September 15, 2010.

Q. Who do I speak with if I have other questions?
A.
